On April 12, 2025, the II. Artificial Intelligence Summit in Education, held at Istanbul Technical University, hosted an important gathering that is shaping the future of the education world. As the CILT-AI team, we took part in this valuable event where the potential, ethical dimensions, and future role of artificial intelligence in education were discussed.
In the opening of the summit, Murat Mücahit Yentür, the Director of Istanbul's Ministry of National Education, emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in creating equal opportunities in education within the framework of Turkey’s Century Education Model, and in equipping students with 21st-century skills. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül also talked about Turkey’s strategic goals in the field of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the aim of being a producer, not just a consumer, in this field, and highlighted the critical role universities play in this journey. During the panel, attention was drawn to the importance of using artificial intelligence in education with the right ethical frameworks, ensuring that it does not deepen inequalities. Additionally, it was emphasized that artificial intelligence in education should be more than just a tool; it should be used to enhance individual learning processes and critical thinking skills.
As the CILT-AI team, we believe that the integration of artificial intelligence in education should not be limited to just using technology, but should also include teaching students how to use these tools ethically and correctly. The summit reinforced our belief that the transformation of artificial intelligence in education will not only be technological but will also create a social impact.
This summit demonstrated that artificial intelligence will become a more powerful tool in education in the future. As CILT-AI, we will continue to contribute to the process of integrating future technologies into education systems, moving forward with an ethical perspective and a human-centered approach.
