During the Fall and Spring semesters of 2023-24, comprehensive initiatives led by the Coordinatorship of Innovative Learning and Teaching-Artificial Intelligence brought a fresh perspective to the educational and instructional processes at our university. As part of these efforts, three faculty members (Assist. Prof. Ercüment Asil, Assist. Prof. Rahmi Oruç, Assist. Prof. Ahmet Yusuf Özdemir), who effectively employed active learning techniques, digital tools, and artificial intelligence applications in their courses, shared their experiences with other academics, making valuable contributions.
In the sharing sessions held within the framework of the Consultation and Evaluation Camp, the faculty members of the selected model courses presented in detail their course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methods, and assessment processes. Each presentation included both theoretical insights and practical suggestions on how to overcome challenges encountered in practice. These sessions provided an inspiring learning and idea exchange environment for other faculty members.
In particular, examples showcasing how AI-powered learning tools were used in the courses garnered significant interest. These innovative methods, which made student participation and learning processes more effective, served as an important model for future course designs.
At the end of the event, our Coordination Unit Director, Assist. Prof. Mehmet Akın Bulut, expressed gratitude to our faculty members for their innovative approaches in education and valuable contributions, presenting them with certificates. The work of these faculty members was recognized as an important step towards achieving the university’s goals for high-quality teaching and was emphasized as a foundation for future educational innovations.
