SQ2R is a method that offers students an effective reading and learning strategy. It consists of five steps: Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review.

In the Survey stage, the text is scanned in general, headings and sub-headings are reviewed. In the Question Formation stage, questions are asked about the text to provide a focus for the reading process. In the Reading stage, the text is read carefully and key information is identified. In the Recite stage, the student repeats what they have read in their own words. Finally, in the Review phase, the text is reviewed once more and the information learned is reinforced.

The benefits of SQ2R are multifaceted. It helps students to understand and learn the text effectively. The questioning and review phases increase students' focus and contribute to a deeper understanding of the text. Moreover, SQ2R strengthens the recall of information and provides students with an effective learning habit. This strategy enables students to adopt a more systematic approach to reading materials and increases their academic achievement.
