Students who visited the Turkcell Dialogue Museum as part of the "Educational Trip" had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of the people who are visually impaired through a simulation performed at the museum. During the visit, students were encouraged to think and feel through the eyes of the people with visual impairments. The trip enabled students to see more closely the limitations and daily difficulties of the lives of the people with visual impairments. Thanks to this trip, the students gained a sense of empathy and realized that people can have different abilities, that people with disabilities are part of society and that they have the right to demand the respect they deserve.
We would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Ayşe Dilşad Yakut for collaborating with us and using different and innovative methods in student evaluation by having the students write an evaluation after the trip.
