An Award Ceremony was Held to Announce the Academicians with the Best Course Examples and to Present their Certificates
Those who were deemed worthy of awards from the best course teaching examples presentations held at the Island of Democracy and Freedoms Consultation and Evaluation Camp on September 15-17, 2023 were given their awards at a ceremony.
According to the results of the evaluations carried out after the presentation of the best course teaching examples held in Yassıada Consultation and Evaluation Camp on 15-17 September 2023, organized by the Coordinatorship of Innovative Learning and Teaching-Artificial Intelligence within the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Ibn Haldun University, the awards were presented. The course examples presented by the academics were evaluated in terms of learning outcomes, the use of innovative teaching methods and techniques, the integration of technology and digital tools into the teaching process, the effective use of CANVAS and the application of different assessment and evaluation methods, and went through a 4-stage evaluation process.
In the first stage, the results of the survey voted by academics after the presentations of the course samples were taken into consideration. In the second stage, the results of the "Course Evaluation Questionnaire" completed by students at the end of the semester were taken into consideration. In the third stage, how effectively academicians use the CANVAS system was determined by a survey voted by anonymous juries. In the fourth and final stage, anonymous jury members made a general evaluation of academicians' course samples.

After a fair evaluation process, academicians with the best course examples are determined respectively as Faculty of Law Lecturer Dr. Ömer Faruk Erol, Faculty of Educational Sciences Lecturer Ayşe Dilşad Yakut, Faculty of Communication Lecturer Dr. Mehmet Karanfiloğlu, Faculty of Management Sciences Lecturer Dr. Sümeyye Kuşakçı, Faculty of Islamic Sciences Lecturer Dr. Tuba Erkoç Baydar, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Lecturer Dr. Asad Ul Islam Khan, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Lecturer Dr. Merve Aktar and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Lecturer Dr. Najiba Mustafayeva. Academicians, who received their awards and certificates by the rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, expressed their opinions on the points that made them successful in an effective course process after the photo shoot. The common points that stand out in an effective lesson process were identified as follows;
• Effective communication with students,
• To use methods and techniques that will enable students to participate actively in the course,
• To integrate the use of digital tools and technology into the teaching process,
• To use different measurement and evaluation methods appropriate to the individual differences of students,
• To take into account students' interests and needs in the learning process.
